Hi guys, bought this (what I believe) is a half rupee (approx size and weight matches, (can't get precise measurements rn) from a silver jewelery store in Hyderabad (Ind). I actually got two coins, one of which was a fully Hyderbad Rupee (which I was able to id) from 1878, the other being this. I believe, based on the sword, that it is likely a baroda issue but I can't find a match on Numista. Help appreciated!

This is definitely a Half Rupee of the Baroda State, with having the sword mint mark and RY6, Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II's name and title!

This is definitely not Baroda, wrong type of sword is a clue, it's  KM#12 - Aurangabad mint, Hyderabad. ½ rupees seem less common

I can't really check its weight accurately right now, but it is a decent bit smaller than the one rupee I bought (an 1878 issue, Hyderabad) and feels lighter. More akin to a half rupee, at least I feel that way. I can't find any attestation to a half rupee online though.

You can't go by flan size, a Jaipur Nazarana rupee  is around 38mm but weigh the same as a regular dump rupee at around 20mm

I'm extremely very sorry for the wrong information, this kind of Hyderabad State coins were fully not known to me, sorry again!

You needn't feel sorry. I had the same initial doubt, and you only tried to help. Thanks!

Very true, I'll be sure when I can weigh it, but thanks a lot!

So I just got an accurate weight on it, and it is 10.90 grams, thus a full rupee. Thanks a lot guys! The RY is 6, so I believe it is an 1812 issue.
