Series dedicated to the Chinese zodiac. The Chinese zodiac is a traditional classification scheme based on the Chinese calendar that assigns an animal and its reputed attributes to each year in a repeating twelve-year cycle. Chinese folkway held that one's personality is related to the attributes of their zodiac animal. The twelve zodiac signs are: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.
The series consists of 5 Dollars copper-nickel and 50 Dollars silver coins issued between 1996 and 1998, one set per year. The obverses depict the seal of the Marshall Islands, and the reverses depict the zodiac animal for the issuing year.
