Any help on figuring out if these are real?

4 posts • viewed 113 times

I’m interested in purchasing a few coins that have piqued my interest recently. All of the following are from a seller I’ve never purchased from before, so I’m unaware of their quality or anything even tho the seller has a 99% positivity rating

I apologize for the picture quality, they’re all screenshots from the listing pictures

Any help would be appreciated, many thanks y’all. Take this down if it isn’t allowed, I don’t mind

They look all totally legit me, these small coins are rarely if ever faked. Although I have recently become suspicious about some of my purchases because of the lack of known fakes circulating or in my fake collection of these types and size. It is something I will be keeping an eye on.

I have hundreds of the German states coins and I see nothing suspicious with these two coins, the ¼ Real doesn’t look suspicious either, although I only have 1 or 2 of them so I am not an expert. Please be aware my opinion is only from the images, not having measurement, weight and the coins available to look at under a loop means I cannot make a definitive informed decision.

Send me the link to the eBay seller and I’ll have a look at the page and tell you if I see anything that raises a red flag.

Otherwise just take the risk, when you have a few in your collection you may well start to recognise fakes.

Nothing jumps out as a problem from a quick look, but I'm not an expert. (Same caveats as King.)

A suggestion for better pictures (assuming you aren't posting from a mobile phone): Right-click on the coin images in listing and open the images in a new tab. Save those tabs and use them in your posts.

(Not currently a problem on sites I use, but if the site tries to disable right-click try shift-right-click.)

I only can agree, I see no problem about authenticity, but I would hesitate to buy the 1/4  real coin. There should coins be available in better condition and for moderate price.
