Series dedicated to the Chinese zodiac. The Chinese zodiac is a traditional classification scheme based on the Chinese calendar that assigns an animal and its reputed attributes to each year in a repeating twelve-year cycle. Chinese folkway held that one's personality is related to the attributes of their zodiac animal. The twelve zodiac signs are: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.
The series consists of 24 coins in two sets: the first with twelve silver coins of 100 Roubles issued between 2006 and 2016, and the second with twelve nickel plated steel coins of 1 Rouble issued from 2015. The obverses depict the coat of arms of Transnistria, and the reverses depict the zodiac animal for the issuing year or close to it.
