No. I just thought we should use the English alphabet, which obviously is not the case?

For Russian coins numista does NOT give the names in Russian nor in Cyrillic. Why is that

Probably because they are not written in the Latin alphabet (there is no English alphabet) or they have English exonyms.

Like Moscow instead of Москва or Moskva.

I'm sorry, but it's not logical that we don't use LANCUT.
