Hi, I found a bug with the coin categories regarding the search.

Test 1)

Searching for a reference number and all coin types selected. That gives the result I want.

Test 2)

I want to find out which coin type it is. So I select all but Proto-Coins. The coin disappears in the search → The coin was a Proto-Coin. BUT…

Test 3)

I select all but Patterns. And the coin is missing AGAIN.

In fact, it seems like you can probably go through all combinations of selections, you will only find the coin you're looking for, when you select ALL coin types. That makes no sense.

Luckily the referee I requested the coin to, found the duplicate listing and declined my add request.

Not a bug, just an insufficient type for the coin.

Since it's the top level type when you deselect a lower lever type the top is not selected.

Then the bug is that it's even possible to select that? Or is this phenomenon really how it's wanted to be?

I believe the intent is there should be no objects in any of the top level types.  If the object doesn't fit into any of the sub-types then either a sub-type is missing or the object isn't in the right type (e.g. a Medal in the Coins).

There are 234,109 Coins in the catalog. There are 233,324 in the sub-types. So there are 785 in the top level Coin type. They should all be put in the right sub-type.

Is there a way to get a list of the items in the top categories?

I will add this as a hint for referees to fix.

Catalogue administrator

@Jarcek please do the same for banknotes as there is also the same problem there.

Jarcek

I will add this as a hint for referees to fix.

The exact same thing happened again. Seems like some referees didn't care about that hint.
