Unidentified very old medieval coin

Hello, friends!

Please, can you identify & evaluate this very old coin (early Middle Ages, I believe)?! The metal may be silver or billon. The weight is 7.54g. and the diameter of 21mm.

My guess (but I may be wrong!) is that it is located in France or England…

Thank you very much for any help!

Your coin is very thick or it is lead. Weight and diameter ratio does not match regular silver or billon coins.

Cross on first image fits France, but you would have to figure which city is on other side.

Salve,la legenda fa riferimento a Ruggero II visconte di Beziers in Francia. Sembrerebbe un sigillo ma non trovo riferimenti.

Hi.

This could be a token reproducing aproximately an old coin, made in lead or pewter.

In France we often find these objects, which were made several years ago, during medieval festivals.

The public can produce the coin himself, with a press, and keep the “coin” like a souvenir.

👍

No silver or billon coin of this size was made in medieval times, so a modern facsimile makes sense.

Legends have semi-meaning.  VICECO was also an abbreviation for the Visconti family on coins of 14th-15th century Milan.

CIVI DI TERNI on the other side looks like City of Terni (Italy).

Buongiorno,la legenda è Biterri (Biteri) Civi = Beziers

Altro lato R Rog Viceco = Ruggero II

Hi.

I confirm, this is an evocation of a coin from Beziers:

Same writings as this one

N#170390

And I also confirm there was reproductions of old coins made during the Beziers Medieval Festival…

👍  I should have looked more closely at the similarities.
