Mint: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/mint.php?id=280

I think the name of this mint in Numista is wrong. I also found more information to correct or add to this mint. I mention the referees for Colombia for confirm/correct this: @Jasanche and @adanieluy

“Casa de Moneda de Colombia” is the name of the building (historical monument) https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q3279784. It is not the name of the mint. Wikipedia mixes both concepts (building and mint).

The ancient name of the mint is

(ES) Casa de Moneda de Santafé de Bogotá (or Casa de Moneda de Santafé)

(EN) Santa Fe Mint (or Santa Fe de Bogota Mint)

https://www.enumismatic.com/mints-history/santa-fe/en/the-mint-of-santa-fe

https://www.google.com/search?q=%22santa+fe+mint%22

https://www.google.com/search?q=%22santa+fe+de+bogota+mint%22

https://www.google.com/search?q=%22casa+de+moneda+de+santa+fe+de+bogota%22

https://www.google.com/search?q=%22casa+de+moneda+de+santafe+de+bogota%22

but the website https://www.banrep.gov.co/es/billetes-monedas/fabrica-moneda/historia says

(ES) Casa de Moneda de Bogotá

(EN) Bogota Mint

The current city of Bogota was called Santa Fe de Bogota https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bogotá , so I think here can use the fields for modern-day and ancient location. Right?

Also this mint is mention as

(ES) Ceca de Nuevo Reino

(EN) New Kingdom Mint

https://www.google.com/search?q=%22New+Kingdom+mint%22 because Santa Fe de Bogotá was the capital of the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Kingdom_of_Granada, but I think it is a nickname.

I added the original name and nickname in description. Is it correct?

Numista says the dates of operation are 1620-1987 but according to the website the mint is active, in 1987 there was only a change of building. https://www.banrep.gov.co/es/billetes-monedas/fabrica-moneda/historia

Mint

Applying the above information, add or modify this data:

  • Name (EN): Bogota Mint
  • Name (local): Casa de Moneda de Bogotá
  • Modern-day location (EN): Bogota
  • Ancient location (EN): Santa Fe de Bogota
  • Wikidata: Remove, it does not have. https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q2841 is about the city
  • Operation dates: 1620-now
  • Description (EN): In the first centuries it was known as New Kingdom Mint or Santa Fe Mint.

Mintmarks

The page https://www.enumismatic.com/mints-history/santa-fe/es/la-ceca-de-santa-fe as some. I thought about creating just these, but when I looked for them in the catalogue I found more…
