1 Shilling - Charles II 1st hammered issue - England – Numista

Thanks

Hi Peter, just playing devil's advocate here, how do we know it's 1660? I can see from Spink that there were 3 hammered issues between 1660 and 1662, but I don't see any breakdown of which issue was struck in which year?

Was just making an educated guess as its the first issue.

Yes, that makes sense but we don't know what year it finished. Unless we can find out elsewhere, I would suggest all Charles II hammered issues should be listed as 1660-62.

I have made a couple of edits to the page, including brackets around the '1st hammered issue'.

Thank you!
