Can the Italian Issuer of

Lordship of Rimini be added to Numista?
https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signoria_di_Rimini

Here the issuer name in English, French, Spanish, Italian and German

The Lordship of Rimini
La Seigneurie de Rimini
El Señorío de Rímini
La Signoria di Rimini
Die Herrschaft von Rimini

The State was ruled by the House of Malatesta
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q1886785

The state was created in 1295 and in 1500 it became part of the Papal States.

Mostly famous Renaissance Medals have been minted by this issuer but also coins such as
https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=884967

Could someone add the issuer?

We have the issuer city of Rimini but the coins and medals issued by the Lordship of Rimini are a different issuer.

thank you,

Paul

I think we have tended to handle these changes in medieval Italian city-states as changes in ruling authorities.

i.e. that Rimini was first ruled as a Commune and then as a Lordship.

This sequence (Commune - Lordship - (sometimes) Duchy) played out all over northern and central Italy (except Venice), so we should probably agree on a consistent way to represent it in naming of the issuers.

Added:

CNI has the coinage periods listed as

Autonomous (1250-1385)  … while also mentioning the rise of the Malatesta since 1295

Carlo Malatesta, Lord (1385-1429)

Galeotto Roberto Malatesta, Lord (1429-1432)

Sigismundo Pandolfo, Lord (1432-1463) .  The mint was closed permanently in 1463.

So we could create the ruler group Malatesta Lords of Rimini with these three lords, and any others needed.
