Unknown Roman Coin [solved]

2 posts • viewed 29 times

Hello all,

This is a coin that I can't seem to place as I know a fair amount of Roman coinage through study but this one I have been stumped on. There are some details that seem to help with the image of a sword on the obverse and some sort of deity on the reverse.

It is around 25mm in diameter and 1mm in thickness. It is very much a copper alloy with some clear lettering but it is hard to make out.

Hope this Helps!

Salve, dovrebbe essere un follis “Genio Antiocheni” di Massimino II Daia, zecca di Antiochia.
