This message aims at: suggesting an idea to improve Numista

I would very much like to thank JLHare for the polite messages and thanks whenever I submit a change or adaptation to the Numista catalogue.  A simple ‘Thanks’ is really very much appreciated.

Indeed, this polite response has made me think that it would be lovely to receive a similar personal message from the Numista Team, such as ‘Thank you’ or ‘Congratulations’, when Members reach notable thresholds, i.e. 10 years on the forum, 5,000 coins in their collection (1k, 10k, 15k, 20k, etc.), first swap, 1000 posts on the forum, 100 new pages added, etc. etc.  Whenever I've seen messages on the forum congratulating people on 10 years membership they seem to be well received, so why not formalise this event.  I'm sure that a little recognition from the leaders of this community would be very much appreciated by its foot soldiers, a feature that would not be difficult to set up as an automated response if no one can allocate the time, but would probably set Numista apart from every other similar community.

Thanks

The “thank you” for each intervention is an encouragement to continue for those who are involved, but I think that the allocation of badges, of different shapes and colors, allocated to certain levels of contribution, would consume less space.

This is in addition to the quantities appearing on the profiles, which may appear in the message title block.

ust an idea like that …

Hi, the idea of badges is discussed here: https://en.numista.com/forum/topic127281.html

Just been looking through some of the previous posts and didn't realise a simple thank you could cause that much comment.

Amazing how people really take the ball and run with it.  Although, I did notice that one or two people had similar thoughts as me (RegularCoiner, davidhs, etc.).  Sorry for raising this hot topic again.

Thank you for the kind words. I always say “Thanks” on new submissions. A lot of time and effort is put into that process. And each day when I review modifications I add a "Thanks" on the first one if there are many from one individual.

It's true. A thank you goes a long way.

I am sorry I missed that. Thank you too
