While I know the FAQ articles about series need be updated to the new series database entity, I assume the rules will be similar:

According to the guidelines the series of commemorative objects must not include the word “series”.

I see a few series with the word “program” in their names:

In most of these cases this word is used with a meaning equivalent to “series”. I think this word should be removed and added to the FAQs.

Wanted & swap list (euro coins & world coins, exonumia and banknotes circulated) https://goo.gl/AQjfKp - I have euro & world CC coins for swap.

No.

For the US series mentioned, The Dept. of the Treasury (US Mint included) and the laws governing their creation identify them as Programs. The only coins/medals that Numista can (should) include in the series are those officially designated as being part of the US Mint Program.  For example, changing the Presidential $1 Coin Program series to Presidential $1 Coin series misrepresents what the series is as I would be able to add coins such as N#40891 , N#55094 , N#1346 to it.  The use of the word “Program” in the title is not a construct of Numista. I can't speak for the other non-US ones but I imagine some are a similar situation.

There are also series with the word issues in the name.

Referee for Spain, Iberia (ancient), Suebi Kingdom and Visigothic Kingdom

Which is not a problem. They are issues of circulation sets (either notes or coins) e.g. 1974 issue etc.

I understand you say but… I do not know…

About your example Presidential $1 Coin Program I found:

In my opinion the United States Mint uses the word “program” as “series”, and the program name is “Presidential $1 Coin”, not “Presidential $1 Coin Program”.

I do not see why. The coins in the “Presidential $1 Coin” series/program are the only coins issued in this series/program. The others (N#40891, N#55094, N#1346) are 1 dollar coins with US presidents as theme, but are not included in that series/program.

They are similar cases. I think the word “issue” should be remove in the commemorative issues and should be replace by “series” in the others (according the guidelines).

That is true (and maybe it sounds better), but then the guidelines should be changed. According the current guidelines, the name of these series should be, for example, “1974 series”.

The mint link you posted is titled Presidential $1 Coin Program. The law that created it says the same.

It looks like the mint is comfortable not using the word “program” when the context is clear that we are talking about a series/program.

That is because in the cases you marked, they talk specifically about the coins, and not about the program they're in. I agree with rsirian1 that the series should be called Presidential $1 Coin Program.

They say "Pecunia non olet", but I know better...
