Iraqi 1372 series (5 coins) [solved]

Why is the 1372 year translated to 1952, when on the coins it is written 1953 (in arabic numerals)?

Because CE = 0.970229 × AH + 621.5643 = 1952.718488 and probably it wasn't rounded up. Also sometimes coins are minted at the beginning or the end of the AH year.

On the coins it says 1953, so why should we be wiser? 

It's an automatic date conversion done without human intervention always using the earlier AD date. It should be checked for accuracy by the referee who validated the new/edited page and by the user that created/edited the page after it is validated.  Obviously there are many instances where people didn't do their “job.”

It is automatic conversion and manual fix is possible, and I just did exactly that. :)
