Have a couple of these ive gotten recently in a lot i need hlep identifying their origin

This specimen weighs 3g

Lenght 19.35mm shorter end to end and 22.27mm at the longer end of the squarish coin

I summize its either maroccan or Tunisian but i cannot identify it due to the language barrier

Surprisingly the numeral “3” is not written as “٣” so that may leads to

N#157527

AH1183

Then, if confirmed, you should submit a picture of your coin for this page, cause your coin id far better than the current picture !

Hi,

by now, you ought to know how to crop your images? So please do it yourself, and don't let other members do your job.

Did you notice the picture on the coin page has a date of 1183 (not ١١٨٣ or ١١٨3)?

III and VIII ?

When Ghubar* numeral works for ٣, why not for ٨ ?

*The word ghobar or ghubar, in Arabic, means dust and recalls the habit that calculators had of carrying out their operations on dust tables - wooden boards covered with fine dust, on which numbers could be written and easily erased (George Ifrah, Histoire universelle des chiffres, éditions Seghers, Paris, 1981, p. 501)

Or:

When Arabic numeral works for ٣, why not for ٨ ?

Also referred to as Western Arabic numerals to distinguish from Eastern Arabic Numerals.

Then, as west differs from east for the numeral eight, your coin is actually AH1773.
