I inherited this coin so I have no idea of the background or where it came from.
I'm trying to determine whether it's genuine or an imitation. I read that imitations were popular with belly dancers but unsure how to determine if this is the case. I've identified it as N#29671 and think I've read the year correctly as 1835.
I've been unable to weigh this yet, hoping to get hold of some scales so I can confirm the weight.
Its extremely thin which makes me think its an imitation but are there any other telltale signs anyone can spot?
Would be grateful for any advice.
Thanks
