Which are the best brands for Cardboard portholes?

And where do you think you can get them with the best prices?

   thanks to anyone

I assume you are referring to 2x2 cardboard flips. From my experience, Lighthouse is the best choice, although there is not a massive difference between all of the brands. Just make sure there are no harmful chemicals present.

Any good coin dealer will have a supplies section that stocks these ‘portholes’. Alternatively, you could try eBay, or simply search for ‘coin 2x2 holder’ followed by the preferred diameter and shop around a bit. The best prices would likely be found in person though. Good luck!

I use lighthouse, I get them from ebay. I don't hold any loyalty to any specific seller, but I have used this one a few times for varying collector goods & had no issues.

They're not always the cheapest, but they seem to have most things in stock most of the time, so you're not usually waiting about.

I prefer the self-adhesive as it creates a tighter seal than the ones you staple, also looks neater in my opinion. Never had any issues with chemicals so far. Also prefer black to white as I find the contrast greater, though black is usually more expensive & harder to come by.

If you have any particularly valuable coins, you might want to invest in coin capsules - these are the thicker plastic-ish material. You can get them in varying shapes & sizes, and some with foam inserts to protect the edges. Not worth it for every coin though, price is a bit high.

I tend to get flips ~10p a unit, the capsules with foam ~80p a unit. You probably could get them cheaper if you really hunted about or bought in larger quantities. Hope that gives you a starting point & if nothing else, the common terms used to describe them online.
