Leuchtturm: difference between OPTIMA and NUMIS

4 posts • viewed 384 times

Hello all,

I'm looking for an album to put my coins and banknotes. I've found many references to OPTIMA and NUMIS albums on Leuchtturm website but I cannot find what are the main differences between the two types. Does anyone know?

Thank you very much!

Optima: Larger, more versatile, suitable for bigger collections or multiple types of collectibles.

Numis: Smaller, more compact, specifically designed for coin collectors with a focus on portability.

Thanks a lot! I've been looking a bit more at their website and I think what you have is the GRANDE: https://www.leuchtturm.com/ringbinder-grande-classic-design-incl-slipcase.html

With 6 double horizontal lines. The OPTIMA only has five: https://www.leuchtturm.com/ringbinder-optima-classic-design-signum-with-labeling-field-incl-slipcase-blue.html

There is also a slightly bigger NUMIS version: https://www.leuchtturm.com/ringbinder-numis-in-classic-design-with-slipcase.html

Yeah you're right I wasn't sure and when I googled Optima it popped up as first entry but without size context both look similar. 😅
