Totally not a coin question. A question from my granddaughter. [solved]

My granddaughter is very much into the television program, Mighty Express, and over the last 6 months or so, I have managed to buy a few of the toy trains that are shown, but one is very much eluding us, so I said to her, that I would ask the community on Numista for their possible help.

My granddaughter's name is Quinn and we are looking for Farmer Faye, a green tractor.

Seen them for sell in the USA, but price plus postage is staggeringly high.

So, if you want to help a granddad get a few bonus points, I am hoping someone out there has one that they no longer need.

Thanks

Could swap it for a few coins

Good luck! It seems like it got hoarded and being sold for crazy prices. And people wonder why more kids aren't playing with toys anymore…

A gallery of my coins and artifacts can been seen on FORVM Ancient Coins

I don't know what Mighty Express program is or anything about the tractors on it but I just did a quick search on ebay and found these:

New $18.66 obo

New $12.00

Are those it?

Yes, but the bottom photograph is the toy I am after. It does not have to be in the packaging. As long as it is in decent condition it would be good enough.

The toys she has from the show, all came from charity shops and were under £3.00 each, but Farmer Faye was not amongst them. Looked in many charity shops since but found none of any of them.

This request, in my opinion has been open for long enough now, although sadly, I did not really solve my small problem but have decided to close this form page

Thanks to all who replied and to those who have read my request.

Hey there,

I added the search to my eBay listing to see if anything would come up. Decided to do a little manual search today when your message got bumped to the top.

Is this it: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/365129255075?

I know its a set, but looks to be cheaper than ordering it from the US. And you get 4 extras.

Thanks for the information.

Strange, as it did not come up when I did a search, but that was a few days ago.

Anyway, I bought it as although some will be similar, all of these have a wagon behind, which my granddaughter does not have, plus some being motorized.

Again, many thanks for taking time out to look

No problem at all, I'm pleased it was you that bought them. I'd added it to my watch list to see of any offers from the seller would come in overnight (none did), then noticed it had been sold. So hightailed it here to see if it was you.

Only bumped into it by accident, when I did a manual search I didn't see it either, but one of the listings I did see was something like “Mighty Express Orange Train”, so I tried “Mighty Express Green”, or something like that, to see if that would bring up the exact one without the proper name, and that set listing appeared near the top.

Anyway, hope Quinn enjoys them once they arrive. And I hope you enjoy your Grandad bonus points. 🥳

Just to let you all know, that the package of trains, including the infamous Farmer Faye, was received yesterday afternoon. My granddaughter came to visit this morning, unaware of what I had bought.

She opened the box and along with her mum and dad, and were totally shocked at what was inside of the box.

Below are a couple of photographs of the set of 5 that I purchased. The first 2, from the left are push along, but the other 3 are battery operated.

I got, quite a few thank you's, a few hugs and kisses. I think it added up to about 1,000,000 bonus points.

Again, my thanks to everyone, especially “A Collector” for the time spent and the link to the item below.

Delighted to hear that they made it to you safely & everyone was happy. Well, happy once they got over the shock it sounds like!

I can quite picture the scene of “ooh, what could it be” moving to “Granddad has found the impossible. He's amazing”. Those precious few seconds as they register what they have. Then probably bouncing around excitedly showing the elusive Faye to her parents.

Feel all warm & fuzzy knowing it's made (at least) one person's day. 🙂

Hope your granddaughter thoroughly enjoys her latest toys. Thank you for the update, always lovely to know.
