May I check if I'm in the right place for this banknote please?  2002 doesn't appear to be listed under N#201917.

Looks like 2004 to me.

Definitely 2002 !

I now even have a second one…

With different signatures too.  Can thesebe added please.  Happy for you to use my photo, if required.

That's the year of the emission law, the different signatures should have given you a clue that it probably can't be the same year. Have you looked at the catalog page? There it is clearly depicted were you can find the year.

Still not really clear where I should log these, but I've put them here...

I assume the emission law is why I can find HNW or HNL prefixes or the two types of signature against a 2002 date.

The non replacement year line 28% (why the hell are there so many replacement lines for each year anyway?) for 2004 is where the first banknote you have posted goes.

What you have is a 101c. It is the issue of 2002 and was printed in 2004. The print date  is on the reverse below the image. There are so many lines for the inserts because they no longer have a distinguishing mark for them. Collectors buy blocks of notes and if they find an out of sequence serial number it is considered an insert. Some one collects all this information and puts it together. It is not issued information from the bank of Canada. Prior they used an asterisk or a letter X in the serial number.
