Alternative Collection Gold Plated

I seem to be having an alternative collection happening

I have found several coins in the last few months that have been gold plated the don't fit in my exonumia collection nor in the coin collection

Some are quite pretty looking some just plain ugly and why somebody would gold plate some things is a bit beyond me.

Do any of the rest of you keep them or junk them?

Haven't quite decided what to do with them but perhaps the fact they are still here is answering that question for me.

I have a bunch of Glückspfennige (Lucky Pennies), I just keep them. If I at some point collect 200 to a 1000 of them (depending on the gilding technique, plating vs leaving) I already have 1 g of gold 😅

Seems like another collection is developing … went to the place I frequent on coin searches - they clear houses for estate purposes or people who just don't want the hassle of going through everything or people decluttering.

Today's find… two stamp albums I don't collect stamps.

However they cost me £10 each filled with first days covers and unused stamps from around the world… (one dedicated to the Queen Mother the other with the Royal Family plus a couple of odds and ends) reason for purchasing inside were first day covers with the relevant coin to go with them all sealed and untouched all coins I didn't have.

Am bouncing!! Ok so will get rid of the other stamps somehow or somewhere as said don't collect stamps but for that amount of pennies well happy 😁
