Is this a coin? [solved]

Hi
Can someone help me to identify this coin. It is 18mm diameter and quite thin, about 0.5mm and looks bronze or brass. Looks like Arabic writing and has an offset circle with a star near the edge.
I have searched in Standard Catalogue of World Coins 1901-2000 without any luck. Keith
