Hello, and I hope you are well!
I am proposing the addition of the city “Pharnakeia” in the Numista catalog (Spanish: Farnacia) (French: Pharnakéia). The Wikidata code for this city is Q201095.
Pharnakeia was a city situated on the southern coast of the Black Sea, in modern day Turkey. Pharnakeia was founded by Pharnakes I, king of Pontus in ~183 BC. The city has undergone a multitude of name changes in its existence. In ~64 AD, the city's name was changed to either Kerasous or Cerasus, after Nero forcibly deposed the King of Pontus. The name Cerasus was Turkified when the Ottoman's gained permanent control of the region in the late 15th century, becoming known as Giresun. The city is still known as Giresun today. Cerasus already exists within the catalog as a city in the Roman Province of Cappadocia, but I am requesting the addition of Pharnakeia as a city in the Greece (Ancient) section “Pontos”.
While there are no coins from Pharnakeia I know of in the catalog currently, here are two links from auctions:
