I saw something strange in the subdivisions of the Colón (1896-date), from Costa Rica https://en.numista.com/catalogue/costa_rica-1.html#c_costa_rica10

1 Colón = 100 Centimos (Centavos after 1917)

Were centimos and centavos used at the same time after 1917?

Was the name changed from centimos to centavos after 1917?

No.

I found 1 colón from the beginning to now is 100 centimos but between 1917 to 1919 were issued coins of 5 and 10 centavos (but also 50 centimos).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Costa_Rican_colón#Centavo_issues,_1917–1919

So I think the subdivisions could be changed to

1 Colón = 100 Centimos = 100 Centavos (1917-1919)

Wanted & swap list (euro coins & world coins, exonumia and banknotes circulated) https://goo.gl/AQjfKp - I have euro & world CC coins for swap.

I put it there like 100 Centimos/Centavos
