Years ago I bought an old book called grading British coins, I taught me how to grade my coins by showing different examples of a coin in various grades and explaining what to look for in order to accurately grade your coins

This is  for U.S. coins but it can be useful for training the eye to recognize subtle differences between grades, Start with large differences such as Good 4 to Fi12 then from Fine 12 to Extra Fine 40 then from Extra Fine 40 to Mint State 60. The large differences will become clear to you. Over time you can refine the eye to recognize smaller differences such as Fine 12 to Fine 15 etc. Note that for Mint State 60 and above, original mint luster becomes more of an an important factor affecting it's grade.
