We currently have “Pound (1822)” as the sole pre-rupee currency for Mauritius. Within it are coins denominated in sous (dated 1822) and notes denominated in dollars and pounds (dated between 1838 and 1866). This is almost correct, we just need to change the dates to 1820-1877, as the earliest coins were the anchor coinage (currently found under British West Indies). However, it would really help if the relationships between the denominations were added:
Thanks for adding the subdivisions. Unfortunately, someone has changed the start date for the decimalized rupee to 1835. Can this please be put back to 1877 and the two notes it affects (here and here) be put back in the pound currency with the following face values?
10 Rupees (1)
50 Rupees (5)
Can we also correct the following face values for the coins?
25 Sous (1⁄16) → 25 Sous (1⁄40)
50 Sous (⅛) → 50 Sous (1⁄20)

If GFD is right then this £1 = $5 note is rather curious, since it was issued in 1866 and doesn't mention the rupee. It is true that the earliest rupee notes (at least according to Bank Note Museum) are from 1848 but that doesn't prove that the rupee became the unit of account. What evidence there is clearly shows that the decimalized rupee was introduced in 1877. Perhaps, with more information, we might split the earlier currency but, for now, what we have covers all the issues bewteen 1820 and 1876.
