hello,

please help to ID this small cash coin.

1,3 g, 19.9 mm

Four ideograms on obverse leads to the Qing dynaty.

With Numisdoc you find the emperor Kangxi

Then, it looks like the first coin when you browse Kangxi coins in the database, excpt diameter and weight, so you need to dig o bit further.

The strange curved head on top of “Tong” leads to DH#22.138.

You can read on your (brand new) reference book that the diameter is under 26mm and weight of 1.0 qian (= 3.73 grams), so yours is a way too light and the Numista sheet of DH#22.139 gives : Brass • 3.21 g • ⌀ 25 mm,

so DH#22.138 is probably not the correct reference …

thank you.

It looks like degraded imitation (circulation forgery) of Hartill 22.137 if I put the reverse with another orientation…

Obverse: 康熙通寶 Kang Xi Tong Bao. Closed head Tong.
Reverse: Manchu "Je" (left) - Chinese "Zhe" (right).
