Cancel the swap that's been confirmed by both parties

Is there any way to cancel the swap completely or to get back to “negotiation” phase after the swap has been confirmed by both parties? We figured out there was some confusion and we want to work on details again before sending out the packages, but none of us seems to be able to find such option.

Is opening the new swap the only solution available?

It's not possible to cancel a swap after both parties have confirmed.

You can open a new swap and “forget” about the one which went wrong!
