That's a normal Portuguese euro coin N#159

I think it's more than a normal coin, it looks like a fake coin with 3D printing crap involved. Amazing, it looks like it was printed yesterday and then adds scratches everywhere (even inside the tiny frame PO, RT, VG, AL there are scratches) to make the coin look like it was used multiple times at the grocery store.🤔

It's just a harshly cleaned well worn coin plus all the damn after processing of images you have nowadays on smartphones that make this coin look so weird.

See the ring around the edge of the coin? it looks so smooth. Can a smartphone camera also produce such an effect impression too?🤔

Siam, please make just one good picture of each side, instead of clogging Numista and the Internet with 30 images of details of the same irrelevant coin.

As we said before: whatever you find in your wallet or find on the street is worth face value, and is not likely to be any special at all.

The strange appearance of the coin on the Etsy images is due to a phenomenon called Compression Artifacts: the jpeg compression algorithm enforces barely noticable differences into patterns that exist on the image, but not in reality.

The image below of my frosted car is one more example of such artefacts. The frosted roof certainly looked spectacular, which is why I took the picture in the first place, but the jpg algorithm turned it into an abstract piece of art.

Hello, my question is if someone wants to sell a coin why do they use the effect on the picture? he could turn off these effects and bend the coin at the right angle to reflect the light to see the true color of the coin. It would be good for the seller and the buyer, and both will smile.🙂

It's a default camera effect, it's a scam that has had very little effort put into it. Do not buy coins on Etsy.
