Hello everyone,

I saw this 1815 gold 1 ducato from the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza (Maria Luigia) being auctioned at Aurea Numismatika (see https://livebid.cz/en/auction/aurea_46ea/detail/259):

I cannot find any references to this coin anywhere else except on the auction page itself. There is no page for it on Numista either, but it looks a lot like the 20 lire (N#21514). Considering the fact that I can't find any information on it and the fact that its condition is extremely good, it looks to me like this is a (proof?) specimen.

The description on the website of Aurea Numismatika translates to “Ducat 1815 - Minted for the occasion of the 200th birthday of the Duchess, Au 0.750 (6.1 g). If this does turn out to be some kind of specimen/trial strike, I think it should get its own page.

Any other information is very welcome. I'm looking forward to your replies.

Best regards,

Gerebernus

That makes sense, I didn't properly think about the "minted for the 200th Birthday of the Duchess"-part… No need to add it then 🙂
