U.S./Philippines coin swapping

4 posts • viewed 164 times

I recently joined Numista and uploading my coin collection.  I'm seeing if there is any interest for coin swapping U.S./Philippines coins (1903-1945) in the near future. I'm looking for AU/UNC coins and can swap in equal condition.

Yes, those coins in AU/Unc are popular on here.

Takes time to find the right swap partners though. Upload what you have with pictures if you can. That will make trades a lot easier.

PS: go slow and be wary of new members who request all your most valuable coins. If you're not sure ask here for advice!

Thank you for your response! I will certainly utilize the forum expertise when I'm ready to swap. I have been collecting U.S./Philippines coins since I was a kid way back. I now nearly have a complete collection and hopefully using this forum to swap will help me get a little closer to my goal.

As you upload your coins to your swap list, scroll to the bottom of each coin's page.

Look where it says “See the details of the coins available for swap”.

That will show a list of members who have the coin to trade, grouped by date and mintmark. Some have pics and grades.

When you find a coin you like, contact those members and ask for a trade (and ask for pictures!).

One caveat: you won't always find what you're looking for in the grade / date / variety you want.

In that case you can put a note in the forum and you might find it that way, worked for me a few times!
