Beginning in 1888 as W.J. Amor, in 1935 the company was sold to the Byatt family, trading from 1943 to 1978 as Amor P/L. In 1978 it merged with WJ Sanders to become Amor-Sanders P/L. As a medal, badge and institutional button manufacturer in New South Wales, the company has supplied government contracts for civil and military badges and buttons as well as fulfilling ecclesiastic, social and commemorative contracts. Over the past century, many NSW institutions covering areas as diverse as the Police, Freemasons and bowling clubs have had their badges, regalia, insignia and prizes made by this company.

W.J. Sanders was established in Sydney in 1911 by accomplished Birmingham silversmith William Sanders. W.J. Sanders produced a wide range of trophies and silver and prestige giftware with W.J. Sanders elephant mark, as well as manufacturing for other Australian jewellery houses.
