I had a fellow contact me and ask if I would sell my 1975 https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces2449.html for $5 plus shipping

is this coin rare, or does he truly need it that bad? how much is the 1975 worth?

  Thanks
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Looking for pre 1783 coins
Does not look like anything special according to NGC.  :8D
He will be lucky if he gets 5 dollars for this

OK, so I have a question regarding Sale of coins,

Because I never expected to sale a coin, I never thought of this. However someone asked me to sale a coins to them and now I wonder, how can I "rate" this person to let everyone know I had a good experience?

It was not a swap so I think it would be a misrepresentation to rate someone with stars, but I considered that you can select no rating and still make a comment on someone's wall.

What do you think, I could do this so I could write a good report but not put any stars?

Personally, I would act as if it was a swap with stars and specify it was a sale.

I like this question and have the experience to tell. I made a request for a swop but the person in question was more interested in sales (no problem if using PayPal or similar). Anyway we made arrangement for the sale to which I requested we also made it contributable to the swop option available through Numista which we agreed, thus increasing your credibility and theirs. There was no problem and we do still trade through email when then coins are suitable to my requirements, just take care and do things correctly before jumping in.
The reason he wanted this was possibly because 1 fil coins ( according to all my Arab friends :D ) are harder to obtain unless you go there...

Honi soit qui mal y pense.
The problem with selling coins is chargebacks. You may have proof of delivery, your buyer might have even signed for receipt but all he needs to do is to inform his credit card company that the parcel he signed for was empty or that the coin was significantly other than described.

Minimum wage call centre staff don't know anything about coins and even if they did they would side with the cardholder 100% of the time. So, you lose your coin, plus whatever it costs to ship it, the buyer gets a free coin. Rinse and repeat.

If this sounds bad, PayPal introduced a new policy c.a. 2010. If a payment is reversed via a chargeback they will not just refund the buyer, they will also deduct $30 to cover their costs.

I used to buy and sell coins a lot, off and on since the 1970's with hand typed lists mailed out every month and orders paid by postal order. I had quite a following with over 200 names on my mailing list plus sellers. I was on first name terms with many of the middle ranking dealers and collectors of that time.  Ah, the good old days. However I have almost entirely quit because of the amount of fraud.

I much prefer swapping coins, it's easy enough to avoid the drama queens, hustlers and resurrecting conmen and it's actually pretty rewarding. If you sell somebody a coin, he becomes a customer. An amicable swap however may lead to a friend.

I still accept PayPal but only from people I know well, for example I am happy to buy coins for one of our UK blokes off eBay.com so he doesn't have to spend $15 on shipping. As we swap coins regularly I send them along with the rest. It's not a great deal of effort, he covers the payment right away and saves a lot of money. It's just one example of how we can work together.

I'm speaking in general terms here, your particular buyer is doubtless legitimate as are most people. I just personally think there are enough losers out there to make the risk unacceptable.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.
