Images deleted

Hello!

I added some Hungarian pattern coins and the images for some were removed. Am I not allowed to use numisbids.com as a source? The images are also on numismatica.auex.de, would putting that as the source help?

Numisbids is an aggregate site you have to use the auction site directly and only those that have given Numista permission and are listed in the list when you select your source under I copied the picture from a website that gave their permission. If you have selected this picture is from somewhere else it's already a bad sign.

If it's not in the list you can also try to contact the auction house and ask if they could give Numista permission to use their images (there are many threads on the forum about this) then provide the permission and ask to put the auction site on the list.

This will probably not suffice, we can't micro manage a source that way. Other then maybe an admin we have no way to know how many pictures are used from a specific source. You probably have to look for another one unfortunately.

Other plan would be to keep the source as ‘comes from somewhere else’ and speak with the referee that you have permission for these couple of pictures but when the next ref comes and doesn't know of this particular case there is the probability that they'll be booted from the site again.

I was the one who put coins up using that, I only used numisbids because they werent on those

Those are the sites you may have some luck getting permission. I think they're both run by the same organization?   I tried looking at their terms but not speaking Hungarian I couldn't find anything.

It's fine to use images gathered on Numisbids, we just need to get authorization of each specific auction house.
In your case, would you write to info@numismatica.hu and ask for a written authorization (en email is enough) for Numista to use their images with appropriate Credit (Nudelman Numismatica), like many other auction houses and museums already do?

Arf, that wont work. We need their agreement to use any image, not a fixed volume.

If you ever receive positive answer, just screenshot it to the forum and we'll add it as an authorized source
