Identification of a (probably) Dutch Republic coin [solved]

5 posts • viewed 53 times

Hello,

I need help with identifying this coin. It is most likely from the Dutch Republic and is almost certainly bronze. Any help is appreciated. I apologize for the sorry state of the coin 🙁

Thanks in advance, friends!

Yes, it looks like a copper from Low Countries, possibly Philip IV, and it should be idenitifiable.  Please provide the diameter (there were smaller denominations).

And if you can take photos of the coin on a flat surface, and crop the images, it will help to read the legends/lettering.

Apologies, I will do that next time. This was my first time posting. The coin has a diameter of around 21,5 mm, although the edges are a little dented so I would guess 22mm.

I think the best possibilities are :

N#8591

N#19971

N#61017

If the shields (both sides) are slightly pointed at their base, and there are no numbers (date) on the sides of the large coat of arms, it is probably the first one.

Thank you. I indeed think it is the first one!
