Market Tavern token

Hi folks, I'm a few months new to the collecting of coins and tokens, and brand new to this particular forum. I like to try and learn a little bit about even the most innocuous coins or tokens I come across, but I can't seem to match this particular one anywhere online.

It's got a completely blank obverse apart from the boarder, and a very tiny notch like a single braille dot, unsure of how visable this is in the picture as it's very tiny! — I have a couple of coins like this, and usually I'm happy enough just seeing another picture of it on any site during my online travels, but this one I can't find anywhere, and I can't match it to anything.

Was hoping that maybe there's just something about these types of tokens I don't know that would explain how difficult it is to track down, as I don't know much about these tokens at all!

Any help or informaiton would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,

- Giles.

Could try some of the small museums in the local area to the Tavern perhaps they have some information listed.

Market Tavern, Merthyr Tydfil | Peoples Collection Wales

There was one similar that went up for auction reading the description ….. Lot number MB96350 reserve set at £20 and estimated to be £40 attained… but doesn't say if it sold or not

MB96 tokens print catalogue 15 Dec 2020 (simmonsgallery.co.uk)

It gives more information on the 3D origin which could likely be the same as your 2D…. worth investigating further perhaps
