Hello there!
This is new forum thread for coordination of Dutch translation of Numista. Even though most people I asked about Dutch translation said to me that English is more than enough, I still believe we can open access to Numista to anyone who might not be profficient in English enough.
I have sent a message to all users that offered to help with the translation and I am tagging our only Dutch speaking referee as well. You are more than welcome to participate! @Chilian
For volunteers, it would be nice to say how much time you could dedicate for the translation, if not much, you can be back-up translator that would join the effort only if needed.
What happens next:
Xavier will prepare database for translation and will give volunteers (not more than 6 are needed really) rights to translate.
Then we can begin. :)
Best regards,
Jarek

Even though I was sceptic myself, I'm looking forward to yet another opportunity to increase the Numista community.
This page is a nice starter:

I was not surprised that most Dutch people were fine with English, but let's give numista a hand. Perhaps and hopefully it can give some Dutch people, who are not proficient in English, the opportunity to participate on this site as well. And, of course, it can't be, that all languages are represented and not Dutch.
My spare time differs per day, but I think I can spend a few hours per week on translation.
Love to get started. As soon as Carnaval is over…

Yes, I would also like to contribute to the translation of Numista into Dutch 😀
My spare time also differs per day/week…but I think a few hours per week is reasonable
But I assume there is no deadline 😉

Hi Jarcek,
Thank you for sharing the information about Numista will continue the translation to Dutch.
As per your request, I will be able to assist translating Numista into Dutch for about 4 hours per week. My number of hours available will depend on the week. Should you need any help, please feel free to ask. Best regards, Kevin

Dutch translation will be open sometime this week.
I have also found that several referees know Dutch, maybe they are proficient enough and willing to help the translation as well? :)

As my Dutch skills are limited to the basics, I would probably only be a makeshift solution for translating. :D

In Berlin, Dutch was only one of the distant future possibilities. It was only after Berlin where we saw how much appreciation German version brought that we decided to accelerate things a lot. :)
Besides Italian being already translated, and Dutch and Portuguese translations starting this week, there will be 6 more languages starting translation soon. :)

Hi,
I translated almost all compositions except for two:
"gilding metal" and “hybrid substrate”. I am also not sure if “composite clay” should be composietklei or just klei..
Could someone check?
Thanks,
Jonathan

Hello,
We launched the Dutch version of Numista. That's the 8th translation available, and also one of the most exhaustive. Thanks a lot to the translators!

Also found some things. Do we list/discuss them here? And also a big congratulations to the kabouters who did all the translation work!
Issuing entity and issuer are both translated as “Uitgevende instelling”, as such I already saw a page with twice an “Uitgevende instelling”. Issuer maybe as emittent (not my favourite, but better than having “instelling” twice …
Some translations needed: https://nl.numista.com/catalogue/corrections/index.php
Links for newest additions are not working (yet):
https://nl.numista.com/catalogue/nieuwsteexonumia.html
https://nl.numista.com/catalogue/nieuwstebankbiljetten.html
https://nl.numista.com/catalogue/nieuwstemunten.html
When filtering by country, the dropdown is not (fully) alphabetical: https://nl.numista.com/echanges/index.php

This seems like as good as a place as any

I'd love to hear more suggestions. I've been struggling with this…
Some translations needed: https://nl.numista.com/catalogue/corrections/index.php
This was not open for translation, as far as I can tell.
Links for newest additions are not working (yet):

Out of the translators hands (yet)
When filtering by country, the dropdown is not (fully) alphabetical: https://nl.numista.com/echanges/index.php
Perhaps Numista isn't filtering on the translated names or perhaps it is because not all the countries have been translated yet. Only 53% of the issuers were translated so far.

Naast “emittent”, vond ik in het Afrikaans “uitreiker” … geen standaard Nederlands woord, maar het zegt wel wat het is (en klint moderner dan emittent).

I love the translation tool:
“In Dutch, I think there is no June eighth but only June eight.…”
To be more specific … it should say “8 juni” instead of “8e juni” (and I'll try to avoid writing in Dutch in the future ;-) ).

Nederland instead of Netherlands 14 juli 2017 instead of juli 14, 2017
7 juni 2024 (or 07-jun-24) instead of 07-Jun-J.
In Dutch, names of months (and their abbreviations) are written in lowercase.

The first 3 should be (in order to be consistent and grammatically correct):
nominale waarde should start with a capital N It is either “Bewaar het criterium” and “Verwijder het criterium”, or “Bewaar de criteria” and “Verwijder de criteria”.

For consistency, either use the word “Ruil” or “Swap”, but not both. The title of the page in the menu is “Mijn ruilen”, but the title on the page is “Ruil-overzicht”. I think we should make those the same. creatie-datum should be “aanmaakdatum”
There is a little green line at the end of the arrow. It's caused by the margin-left: -0.65em on the #swap_list ol li:last-child a:after

Nederland instead of Netherlands 14 juli 2017 instead of juli 14, 2017
7 juni 2024 (or 07-jun-24) instead of 07-Jun-J.
In Dutch, names of months (and their abbreviations) are written in lowercase.
Above my grade. Countries and territories translation is still in progress… but I fixed Nederland

The current time is not a time. This does work on the English page.

The first 3 should be (in order to be consistent and grammatically correct):
nominale waarde should start with a capital N It is either “Bewaar het criterium” and “Verwijder het criterium”, or “Bewaar de criteria” and “Verwijder de criteria”. Fixed

For consistency, either use the word “Ruil” or “Swap”, but not both. The title of the page in the menu is “Mijn ruilen”, but the title on the page is “Ruil-overzicht”. I think we should make those the same. creatie-datum should be “aanmaakdatum” Fixed
There is a little green line at the end of the arrow. It's caused by the margin-left: -0.65em on the #swap_list ol li:last-child a:after
I couldn't find where to fix this, so I think it is above my grade

Hello,
Date and time format issues are fixed.
The thin green line on the swap monitor is fixed too.

Dutch translation of Philippines would be better Filipijnen instead of Filippijnen.

You're very right. I corrected all instances. Thanks!
