Is  there any other way of Identifying Replica Chinese notes  than paper type 1949 series

I believe we have members here that can tell if your note is genuine or fake. You just have to post your notes here for them to view.

Hi  Thankyou for that information

I  have a set of 60 XF- UNC  replicas , but bidding on several that appear circulated, so just wondering if they are real,or replicas that have had a hiding to look  genuine

Will post here once i have them in my collection

In 1949 Chinese banknotes could be authenticated through secret markings

I think these are all fake, the color and paper quality are wrong.

Hi   Thankyou for your help

Aren't the fakes all the same size, same Roman numerals?

Hi  here are 4 different sizes of REPLICA banknotes and a variety of Roman Numerals

If you are not an expert in this matter, it would be better to stick to modern or most recent issues. I bought many of these old Chinese banknotes in the late 90s and early 00s and never thought of them were fakes or replicas. Nowadays, I would not buy them anymore. Some years ago, I was bidding against someone from the USA for some Qing Dynasty banknotes. I lost them all. Later I saw the seller's feedback from the buyer(s) claiming that all the notes purchased were replicas. Obviously, the buyer(s) was not happy.

Well put ahkai.  Buying fake is bad for the hobby IMO

Fakes are ok if correctly identified and set as Exonumia-especially when the originals are expensive and impossible to own

Some circulated as normal notes, but high penalties if you got caught

This fact makes them collectable, and have space in my collection- especially notes that are obviously circulated

Eventually in 1953 the new Communist govt withdrew the series and replaced with 2nd RENMINBI set in 1953
