Russian Empire Signature Abvelin [solved]

3 posts • viewed 59 times

As I am updating some banknotes of the Russian Empire, I noticed a signature that is incredibly unaccounted for across the nuismatic world. I am asking anyone who owns a banknote signed by Abelvin to send a picture of the obverse of the banknote so that I can use it for research purposes, specifically identifying what Managers of the State Bank they have signed under as well as what prefixes were used, so as to identify the issuing authority.

Here’s a picture of the signature:

So far, I have found two notes signed by Abvelin, confirming that they have signed the 5 & 10 Rouble notes.

This is not "Abvelin", but “А. Bilinskiy”

Анатолий Константинович Былинский (Anatoliy Konstantinovich Bylinskiy), to be precise.

That it is! Thank you for pointing that out - my brain hadn’t made the connection!
