Good afternoon,

Don't usually post, but I am happy to have found the last 2023 quarter I was missing:

And also my first 2024 coin:

Hope you all are having a great 2024 so far.

Congrats.  I don't do a lot of cash transactions so I don't get to sift through change very much.  Only way for me to get my coins is by getting rolls from the bank.

Hi to whoever is reading this. Did you know that TYPEWRITER (on a QWERTY keyboard) is the longest word you can type using only the letters on one row of the keyboard.

Morning!

Yeah. I have to make an effort to carry cash so I can get some change here and there as well.

I don't like these coins at all, they are ugly and poorly designed and in my opinion they do not do the subjects justice. Yes I know its great they are saluting women of colour or sexual minorities, but the modern hipster designs are ridiculous. Why do they have these way out graphic art style designs, whereas the mostly white females on American non circulating coins look normal?

I mean here, these women either have letters making up their portraits (Jovita Idar) or their faces molded into numerals (Murray). Also the portrait of Washington is vile. Why change the one they had, it was a good portrait. I know we all have to be woke and modern, but what is wrong with traditions.

I like the topic, I did not know who any of these women were except Sally Ride (Probably as she is white and went into space), but finding out about them was fascinating and it helps that Americans are finding out who they were too. But these designs are just going to put people off, especially after the beautiful National Parks coins and the decent State Quarters before them.

I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

I think that's the consensuses opinion of the Numista community.

Good afternoon,

The Murray design is my least favorite design of the series so far. But I am a fan of the of the other ones. I like this series much more than the Statehood and ATB series. These are beautiful, in my opinion:

There is quite a bit of history with regards to the new obverse too.

But to each their own. The best thing about the way I collect coins is that I keep what I like and don't worry about what I don't like. Makes things easier.

The new portrait for Washington was a proposed design for the 1932 quarter that never got implemented. The design was also brought back for a 1999 $5 gold commemorative.
