The images in N#392755 are in AVIF format, not JPEG. I think that format is not accepted by the form to add coins, but somehow they have gotten into the catalog.

Referee for Spain, Iberia (ancient), Suebi Kingdom and Visigothic Kingdom

They are AVIF. They get into Numista coin pages the same way .png files get there by manually deleting the .avif extension and replacing with .jpg. Doesn't change the format but does fool Numista.

If the image is visible, I do not think that is a bug

They are not visible for me

Interesting, works fine to me on the computer and mobile version

So indeed must be a problem in some devices

This image is not a malfunction of Numista, but allowing images with a jpg extension to be uploaded and not checking their mime type (it must be image/jpeg) is bug of the program.

I assume this is the problem, that the mime type is not checked (or was not checked when that images were uploaded). @Xavier or @dzmitry.huletski know more about this.

I saved both images to .jpg and sent them as a change request. Might be of help.

Yes, of course!

It remains to be seen if the system check the mime type from now on.

Perhaps time to update and translate this?  https://fr.numista.com/help/comment-ajouter-une-photo-au-catalogue-74.html

A fix is planned for this issue.

Hello,

It's not possible to add non-JPEG images anymore.
