Guatemala ½ Real 1747. Is it real?

5 posts • viewed 94 times

So I've found this coin in my collection that's been passed down. Searched it on CoinSnap and it came up with a Guatemalan ¼ Real from 1747. It should be made from Silver however I'm struggling to work out if its real or not. Can anybody shed some light on this. Thankyou

Hello,

If it is real or fake, I can't tell.

But it is for sure not a Guatemala ¼ Real ….  emperor Vespasianus  never came to Central America 😁

I think you put the wrong coin in your message.

Don't use that app.  Won't work on ancient coins. It thinks you have this:

N#309072

Add the diameter and weight and more focused pictures and the experts here (not I) will identify it and judge its authenticity.
