Hello,

Please can you update the name of this printer into:

Atem Calcografia & Cartevalori Servizi Integrati S.r.l.

1894 to 2015

Alternative names: Carte Valori Coen & C., Calcografía e Cartevalori, Coen & C. Banconote, Calcografia & Cartevalori de Metrotipo S.p.A.

A bit more of info.

An add dated of 2010.

A short history.

Most recent note of this printer

Always look on the bright side of life!

Seems those multiple names refer to different companies, right? (a merge for instance should lead to a new printe in our DB)

I only found info about this one:

Atem Calcografia & Cartevalori Servizi Integrati S.r.l.

For the others name I just mentionned it as they are already there but don't really know why they are here at first place.

I created this printer, see more info here (sorry, is in Spanish)

Algunas consideraciones sobre la emisión de 18 de julio de 1937 de Coen & Cartevalori – Crónica Numismática (cronicanumismatica.com)

It seems that the printer I create is not the same, because it close the activty in 1994, so I think that the info given by @Indomini16 is from a different printer. The original info is correct, but I don't know if the italian banknote attached to this printer is correct (it could be because is before 1994)

Fine but what about this letter from Cartevalori to the bank of Spain about these notes?

No idea then if the printer is the same, but the original info that is now in Numista is correctfor the banknotes of Spain. According the letter you talk about, I'm confused if it is the same company.

In your source we can read:

So it’s the same company as for this note.

It’s only a name change due to political reasons …

So should we keep 2 different name under 2 different printer pages?

Always look on the bright side of life!

Yes, I think the same that the italian banknote is from the same printer, I agree with you. So for me the decission is to keep all as it is. The Company is the same in all banknotes, only a name change happens due to political issues, not a merge with any other company. Do you agree or you think in other "solutions"?

I am quite lost here.

For me is ok like it is and no change is needed, let's see what @Indomini16 think about it 😉

Coin referee for: Andorra, Equatorial Guinea, Marshall Islands, Moldova, Liberia and Spain
Banknote referee for: Andorra, Equatorial Guinea and Spain

The letter sent by the banks of spain to the banknote printer came back with the name Calcografia & Cartevalori:

But we only mention Update: Coen & C. Banconote.

So for me something is wrong.

@Ramons78 do you know a bit the printer  Calcografia & Cartevalori Milano?

Always look on the bright side of life!

That is not true, when you see the page of this printer in Numista, 3 names are used (and is for the same printer for sure),

it does not matter to me which one to put as the main name (if you want we put Calcografia & Cartevalori as the main name), but the three names are the same company, and those 3 names are used on the Spanish banknotes, so nothing is wrong.

I repeat, if you want, we can change to Calcografia & Cartevalori as the main name and the 2 others as alternative names.

I just reworked the name. Maybe it is better this way?

Perfect for me, @Indomini16  is ok for you too? If so, we can close this 😊

Many thanks Jarek!!!

EDIT: Just a small typographical question, I think a space should be added after the comma (see image)

Banknote referee for: Andorra, Equatorial Guinea and Spain

Fine for me and also see the missing space :-)
