Strange Mexican 1974 Cinco Centavos Coin [solved]

3 posts • viewed 84 times

Hi I was wondering if yall can help me identify what’s going on with this 5 Centavos coin from 1974. Its Diameter is 18mm, and weighs approximately 2.8 grams. Next to it is the same mint year as the listing N#3152 which is what the coin appears to be. It’s nonferrous, and its thickness is the same as the brass coin to the right of it. Could it be possible that it’s a fake? Or is it possible that the coin got made of the wrong material? I appreciate any help so thanks in advance :)

If its a different color than the brass one like it looks on the picture I would assume its plated in some silvery looking metal.

Yes, this is my cat
