The title says it all.

I only “really” collect roman coins, but I also had a small stash of rare euro coins that I kept on top of my safe.

My girlfriend needed change to pay for a coin laundry and saw my collection. Not knowing what it was, she spent is all.

When I told her what happened poor thing started to cry.

Moral of the story: either stow your euro collection away or make sure everyone knows what it is lol.

Was your collection organised like a bowl of change?

The question is: ,,Was the laundry freshly clean and smelled of fabric softener?,,

If so, the coins have fulfilled their purpose and mission here on earth.

Colleague - nothing will help, I repeat nothing will protect your collection. My wife and I have been married for 40 years, and we were also friends two years before the wedding. He has known that I collect for 30 years, and he also knows that I have our Czech banknotes (he doesn't know where)

She received an unexpected order via the carrier ("PPL" or UPS )or GLS or something like that- she wanted to pay by card, the payment gateway system didn't work - connection failure between the driver and his card reader-and banking with each other.

Solvers in the city, but here in the mountains there is a problem- ,, my wife came back to my house and said look at the stack so I can pay - I know you have them-and I pulled out the banknote I had prepared -it had a nice serial number and was UNC,,

Lessons from life: Your collection will never be safe from your wife-girlfriend -nor a meter-long reinforced concrete wall protected by armored doors

equipped with code locks and under camera wifi system.

Bills must be paid and laundry must be clean and smelling good-and only then is there room to play. It's like that all over the world mate or I'm wrong?

it's the same in the market - you buy more coins, but you have an angel at home who is diligent.

A tragic comedy if I’ve ever seen one! good on you for your sunny disposition on life. And yes, like others I’m also curious which ‘rare‘ euro coins continued their onward journey into the cut throat world of laundry and dry cleaning :)

Oh boy

Someone just got their hands on a fortune

I agree with Ivan, Nothing can help

We, as an enlightened community of numismatists, have an other-worldly fetish for coins (LOL, I sound like a Communist leader xD)

But still, I feel sorry for you

P.S - Mind sharing the “rare euro coins” details?

What is a “rare” euro coin.

There are quite a lot of rare commemeretives and just overall coins with low mintages for euro coins as well. Issuers like Monaco, San Marino and

Vatican only make small amounts or even none for circulation.

Any 10 cents from San Marino is rare cause they were only issued in BU-sets for example

So they are rare. Not just them though, many countries have made redesigns of their sets but only produce very little to none for circulation.

Like the new French 1€

N#314958

Or the "new" 1 and 2€ from the Netherlands

N#54959

N#54960

And obviously there are key dates, NIFCs and proof coins as well.

So there are a lot of rare euro coins.

Hello fellow collectors.

I was also waiting for an example of which euro coins were given for clean laundry. I just know that even brick-and-mortar stores sell the whole range for collections (only the price for some is really high, I saw it in a store in San Marín and also in a numismatic store in Kremnica.) -All can be ordered online.

So I'll show you an example:

I don't want to be rich, that's very treacherous - I just want to be happy - and I am. I am in the beginning stages of finding natophilia and I want to teach my son to look.

We have a kind of domestic folklore in determining which series of banknotes are sought after and rare, and some series can be priced up to ten times the real circulation value.

And when you have it with you, you can't hide it from a woman - when she sees you have it and just needs to pay for PPL shipment.

Example of how I search today:

Series D, D, K, K and Z

N#218057

And among other trading today I find a series of "Z" - so I'll put this one aside (I don't sell - I don't trade) I'm just finding out what I call the market and I want to teach my son to react and maybe make him interested in:

year 2007 and series "Z"( The "Z" series is considered rare and the "E" series is priced around 17,000-20,000 CZK)

and a sample of our websites:

But for the wife, it's a banknote with which she can buy clothes, shoes and food for our grandchildren, who we have at home and our hungry necks - that's how women think about mundane and primitive things.😁

2 things

1. Dump her, its obvious if she does not know you collect coins and that miscellaneous piles of coins does not necessarily mean help yourself. And if she did, then she is obviously a halfwit.

2. Buy a washing machine, I don't know what country you are in - but here in NZ, you can buy some low quality cheap Chinese junk for as little as $200. Laundromats here are dangerous and solely used by the poor and ethnically diverse populations only. Apparently within 15 minutes of arriving at one, someone will try and sell you weed or meth.

I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

wait, “spent it all”?? how much are we talking? idk how expensive a coin laundry is but it cant be more than a few euros? so there should only be a few pieces missing i guess right?

buy 2 acres of land build a warehouse to store your collection in it and you fix your problems

I have a better idea. Rent a safety deposit box at Fort Knox.
