Have a nice day fellow collector across the big pond.

You know, I think it's not even the name of the medalist who created the medallion as a work of art.

Rather, it is a sacred place where it is sold to register who the locket is intended for, many disabled people make the journey to Lourdes and seek salvation and healing and ask Saint Bernadette ( Thanks to her visions, Lourdes became one of the most important places of pilgrimage in the world. Bernadette was beatified in 1925, and declared a saint eight years later.)to convey their wishes to the Virgin Mary who appeared to her there.

The seller engraves or cuts out the wish or name for whom it is intended on the spot.

However, French collectors should confirm this theory of mine - after all, it is their sandbox-i could be wrong, there are a large number of different designs of these lockets.

Hello Ivan!

Happy to *virtually* make your acquaintance!

Thank you for input on the name stamp.  The other image you provided of the B is one I have also previously observed.  Although, I believe it’s usually a JB for Jean Balme.

Your theory is a solid one though and I am interested in any additional information you may have.  I have a few other medals with artist signatures I need help identifying as well!

hope you’re having a great week!

blessings,

tina

Hello Ivan!

So yeah.

So I went out into the cold and snow to mint a coin for you to demonstrate how artists' names can get on medallions.  ( In a hurry and I don't have the strength for it - my pressure press is broken and I have to repair it to 6 tons for cars in the spring.)

The "T" was stamped wrong so I thought I'd fix it and it's even worse than it was. Simply, when it's cold and there's a blizzard outside - you shouldn't mint holy coins.
