A huge database and as written most importantly on their website:

Our images are available under a CC BY 3.0 licence. We encourage people to use our data and images as widely as possible. Enjoy!

But many of the images are not “Our images.”

Ahhh, that's unfortunate.

Some have the same (updated) license as well, which can be seen when you click on the license itself. For example here:

That coin above is one specifically where I want to add the picture, as it's the only cited specimen by the RIC catalog. But then we would have to add “Northamptonshire County Council”?

The way I understand it for BY-SA (very fuzzily) is that you have to give credit (Northamptonshire County Council), supply link to license (I assume Numista does this generically?), note any changes made and give final product the same BY-SA license.

One thing I noticed is that if you use the download link to get the picture the license info is gone.

So can the “Northamptonshire County Council” be entered such that the requirements are fulfilled? The license is there, it's just the technicalities. I could just put the link in the comment section, but why not make it consistent with all other sources as well?

Question is, where should I link Northamptonshire County Council if I were to add it as a source?

Good question. I would guess since it's a council, the link should be to their government website? But it's moving soon.

I do not really feel comfortable listing some county council website though. If it just for few pictures, maybe contacting them and listing them as other source would be better option.
