3 are shown in Numista in the comments section, I believe in those three!:

2 are shown in the Chilean catalog, they do exist for sure, the catalog is from 2021:

and 4 in the numista year lines:

Since there is no image showing the “short 5, curled” year line variant, I suggest deleting it or add a comment, “so far not documented”, until proof is found

@Quodlibet Any input here please?

Catalogue administrator

I carried out research in 2017 on the variants in this coin and date:

https://numisvarianteschile.wordpress.com/2017/05/28/variantes-en-el-peso-de-1953/

I consider that, as there are so many different varieties, including bad transfers to the final die, and hand modifications in numbers 5 and 3, in order not to make the entry into Numista of this coin so complicated, I would leave only the "long top 5" and “short top 5" varieties.

I remain available for any other modifications you may wish to make.

Cheers

I can live with that, no problem, specially since they are easy to recognize also on well-used coins.

And, as far as I can see, it would be impossible to know if a “Short top” was a variant on straight or curled, because the tip of the 5 (where the curl occurs) is missing!

The date lines "1953 Short curled top 5" and “1953 Short striaght top 5” have been combined to “1953 Short top 5.”
