While the list of possible weapons are numerous, there are many which are very common for Ancient Greek and other coins and which would be very helpful if more easily searchable via tags.
I get the logic of using a general category, like for example: Mythical Creature of which Griffin, Hippocamp, Pegasus and many others would fit into, but
- Handheld Weapons was recently eliminated as a tag and is missed - there is no longer a broad categorical tag for weapons
- the following weapons appear in too many examples to be functionally useful in a categorical grouping called “weapons”
Labrys (Zeus' axe) … Axe for short.
Poseidon's Trident (or trident in general context) - we have Triskeles and i believe there are many more trident coins.
One of the most basic and popular weapons is Sword, on hundreds or perhaps 1000s of coins for over 2000 years.
For 2000+ years, pagans and Christians had coins showing an Altar and there are 100s of examples.
Several Roman emperors have coins showing Religious Implements, this too fits like the other generalized Religious categories…
Perhaps AI tools can be used to scan the catalog and determine a short list of frequently occurring words which then can be reviewed and added as well.
