100$ U.S. Dollars Travellers Cheque - 1960s

Hello to the forum,

I got my hands on an old 100$ travellers cheque and from the research I made I couldn't find any information. Only that it should be dated around the early 1960s. Numista has an equal one but of a 20$ value with not a lot information. The 100$ is not even posted here.

Does anyone have any experience on old US cheques so to provide any further information ?

I have no knowledge of them beside where to buy them, and how to spend them.

I traveled in Europe in the 1980s and brought all my money with me in this form. 

I didnt kept any, always needed the cash.

It is interesting that on your $100, and also the $20 on the Numista page, the payee has not filled the check correctly!  

you ares supposed to write the data and city. On your note the month and day looks over written, and the mark in the year is no number I can make out.🤔

You can contribute to the Numista catalog by adding your note. You can duplicate the existing page for the $20, and just change the text and pictures.

I will be more than happy to contribute my finding on the Numista catalogue which I admire the most.

It is really strange that there is no available information on the internet. I googled it more than a dozen of times in various search terms and no result or relevant information was provided, despite this Numista listing of the 20$ variant. To be honest it is the first time in my life that I am searching for something is Google and I am not getting any results… lol :)

Are you maybe familiar with someone that specializes in old bank cheques to ask for a professional opinion ?
